In a large-scale Internet site, it is often necessary to establish statistics on the connections (number of visits, duration of the connection) as well as on the touched public (navigators used, privileged operating systems), and so on).
The interests and consequences of such a statistical follow-up are numerous and are technical as well as marketing or commercial. It allows you to increase your performances on search engines by targeting keywords used by the Internet users, to know better your users (frequenting), navigators, operating systems) and so optimize your site, to measure the expectations and the needs of your Internet users, to gain in visibility or also to analyze the returns on investment of advertising campaigns.
Typo3 has a pages and visits consultation statistics module. It is a VTS (Visitor Tracking System) module that supplies very precise data on visits and visitors.
For a project using Typo3, Oblady realized an extension of this module allowing to restore visually and diagrammatically the statistical data issued from the module VTS and baptized VTS Front End.
Besides a graphic depiction adapted to each of the 17 modules of statistics, facilitating the visibility of the information, this extension offers an architecture of modular implementation where each brick is independent from one another. The main interest of this modular management is the extension of the offer of statistics modules proposed.
Just like typo3, capable of managing several sites in the same authority of development (instance of développement), VTS Front End is capable of managing the multi-site and to deliver personal and detailed statistics to each of the sites.
Working in the form of Front End plugin, VTS Front End becomes directly integrated in the contents of your pages. The choice of the statistics modules is made through a list of selection, letting you the freedom to post modules answering your needs. This list of choice is " auto adaptive " because it takes automatically into account any additions of new statistics modules.
Adapted, evolutionary and simple, VTS Front End is an interesting palliative to the Back End statistics modules available at the moment under Typo3. A first version of VTS Front End is already available on the repository of typo3.org.
